PRENATAL OFFICE VISIT - $75.00
A visit with a lactation consultant  while pregnant can be very helpful. It helps the mother to sort through the many opinions she has been bombarded with. It is especially helpful for those  who are anxious. Prenatal visits are also recommended for those with medical histories, those who take daily medications or who have had breast surgery.

INITIAL OFFICE VISIT - $75.00
An initial office visit can help a great deal. It allows an opportunity to slow things down, get a handle on the problem and create a plan.The visit will include an assessment of both mother and baby. This visit may include a thorough history of your pregnancy, labor, delivery and breastfeeding history thus far. Assessment of baby's oral anatomy, mother's breasts, weight check with evaluation of  intake weight with feedingwill be made. An observed breastfeeding session is conducted to evaluate latch and baby's suck/swallow. A care plan to help improve breastfeeding will be put in place, with a continued discussion about newborn development and milk production.

Breast pumps and other equipment that may be helpful are available for rental and sale. Education about these short term aids is given prior to their use. A fax to your pediatrician or mother's health care provider will be provided if appropriate.

FOLLOW UP VISIT - $75.00
It does seem that many initial breastfeeding problems improve after one visit.
For more challenging problems that require a series of steps, another visit may be helpful. Follow-up can reinforce what is working from our last visit or result in a change of approach from the input discovered since our last visit.
 
RETURNING TO WORK - $75.00
Many woman continue to enjoy breastfeeding their babies long after returning to work. Practical discussion about how to achieve your goal can make all the difference. Recommendations about how to pump in order to protect your milk supply are essential. The selection of the pump that suits your needs is discussed. When and how to introduce a bottle, how and when to pump, and the best way to store breast milk.It's great to see you and your baby when your baby is between 4-6 weeks old. Emotional support is also given as the whole family transitions to this new and exciting stage of life.


LACTATION HOME VISIT - $135.00
(offered on a limited basis, depending on availability)
Visit may include history taking, assessment of baby's oral anatomy as well as mother's breasts. Breastfeeding assessment may be done and weight check if indicated. A care plan will be put in place as needed. A fax will be sent to your pediatrician or mother's healthcare provider if appropriate
